Abstract:

Antimony is a strategically important type of mineral raw material, found in many areas of the Chukotka Autonomous Area, the easternmost region of the Russian Arctic zone. The article examines current problems of the world and Russian antimony mining industry. A brief geological and economic description of a number of promising objects in Chukotka is given. The authors show that the creation of a mineral resource base of antimony is one of the strategic tasks in the Area socio-economic development.
