Abstract:

The article relates to the issues of subsurface degassing remote detection and monitoring on the Yamal peninsula. The proposed technology provides the integrated use of multispectral and radar surveying of medium resolution (10-60 m), which allows to reveal heterogeneities in the ice cover associated with gas inclusions in ice. The presence of a high-frequency survey makes it possible to detect areas with regular gas shows, which may serve as an additional sign of natural and technogenic endogenous activity. Application of the technology will increase the efficiency and safety of the hydrocarbon resources search and development in the Arctic.
