Abstract:

Based on the Russian Arctic example, an attempt was made to update the developed regional plans for adaptation to climate change, taking into account currently available scientific knowledge, observational data, climate scenarios and the results of mathematical modeling of natural and socio-economic systems — recipients of climate risks. The authors using the developed methods have calculated the geocryological risk index for the macro-regions of the Russian permafrost zone, as well as the vulnerability index of economic systems for municipalities of the Russian Arctic.

Finance info: Permafrost forecasting modeling has been done at the State Hydrological Institute as part of the Roshydromet scientific and technological research activity.
