Abstract:

The article considers the main environmental aspects of developing the natural resource potential of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The authors describe briefly five (5) aspects in some examples: increasing the industrial load in the zone of the main transport routes, accumulated environmental damage, degradation of permafrost, the occurrence of gas emission funnels, and monitoring of pollutant release into the seas of the Arctic Ocean by river flows. They suggest to state authorities main management measures to insure environmental risks and systematize integrated public administration of such a complex process.
