Abstract:

The article deals with the 100th anniversary of Academician A. F. Treshnikov, who is the eminent oceanologist and geographer, the Arctic researcher of worldwide reputation, talented organizer of science. The principal milestones of his biography, scientific data and field activities are described. Information about the anniversary events is given.
