A.E. Kontorovich is a world-renowned expert in the field of oil and gas geology, organic geochemistry, and mathematical geology. He made a significant contribution to the development of the theory of oil formation, the theory and methods of quantitative prediction of oil-and-gas content, the theory and methods of prospecting and exploration for oil and gas, the economy of the oil and gas complex, the scientific substantiation and discovery of West Siberian, Leno-Tunguska and Lena-Vilyui oil-and-gas fields, to theoretical substantiation and discovery of the Precambrian oil-and-gas content. He performed a large cycle of studies on global and regional estimates of oil and gas resources.
Author and co-author of more than 1000 scientific papers, including more than 50 monographs.
