Areas of scientific activity: N.S. Kasimov developed the Theory of geochemical barriers, introduced concepts of bilateral, radial and lateral barriers, for the first time described in detail the acid, vapor and alkaline barriers. In recent years, he developed the theoretical and methodological foundations of the geochemistry of urban landscapes, their classifications, the geochemical principles for creating geographic information systems of cities and regions, and the geochemistry of aquatic landscapes.
Author of about 300 scientific works, including 8 monographs and textbooks.
