Areas of scientific activity: the development of the ocean general circulation model and the joint model of the general circulation of the atmosphere and the ocean, the study of the ocean and the atmosphere interaction, modeling with high spatial resolution of the circulation of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Ocean.
Principal developer of the oceanic block of the Terrestrial System Model of the ICM RAS, representing Russia in the IPCC programs. This model of ocean general circulation is one of the versions of the INMOM (Institute of Numerical Mathematics Ocean Model) model.
