EDITORIAL POLICY OF THE JOURNAL

The “Arctic: Ecology and Economy” Journal is a research and analysis periodical printed publication covering the main problems and achievements of domestic and foreign sciences in the field of study, development and ecology of the Russian Arctic area and in the whole Arctic.

The main purpose of the Journal is to provide the broad strata of the scientific community, employees of federal and regional legislative and executive bodies, research and production enterprises, students, graduate students and businessmen with the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of scientific research and applied developments on key issues of study and economic development of the Arctic, as well as the preservation of its unique ecology. The comprehensive coverage of the relevant issues of Arctic exploration and development favors the creation of scientific basis for justification of the government decisions on domestic and international Arctic issues and economic activities in the Arctic Ocean and adjacent areas. The study of ecological and geographical factors that can reduce risks in the development of the Arctic regions also has an important place here. The Journal publishes the original articles of scientists and specialists of research organizations, higher educational institutions, industrial enterprises and administrative structures of Russia, as well as foreign authors on urgent problems of the Arctic.

The publication of articles is free for authors.

The Journal is sent to specialized research organizations and universities, federal and regional executive and legislative authorities, interested enterprises and organizations, as well as to authors of publications. Part of the circulation is distributed by subscription through the Federal subscription catalog, the United Catalog “Press of Russia”, Commercial subscription catalog “UralPress”. The Journal is not distributed by retail.

The Journal is included in the list of leading peer reviewed scientific periodicals, in which the Higher Attestation Commission recommends publishing the papers reflecting the main scientific content of candidate and doctoral dissertations. It is included in the Russian Scientific Citation Index (RINC). The full-text version of the journal on the Internet is published on the Journal`s website http://arctica-ac.ru.

Contents of the Journal, abstracts of articles, keywords and information about authors in Russian and English are published on the website of the Journal (http://arctica-ac.ru) and the scientific electronic library Elibrary.ru (http://elibrary.ru/title_about.asp?id=37147). Scientometric indicators of the “Arctic: Ecology and Economics” Journal are placed on the website of the scientific electronic library Elibrary.ru.

According to the results of 2017, the Journal ranks 4th in the SCIENCE INDEX rating on the topic “Comprehensive study of individual countries and regions” and 699th among all Russian journals (index 0,811) with a five-year impact factor of 1,103.
